Disaster Preparedness Committee
While the Rio Vista Disaster Preparedness Committee was initially formed to deal with hurricanes, our goal is to prepare our neighborhood for any type of disaster. Examples of some of the volunteer efforts we have completed after past storms include: clearing roads, checking on neighbors, delivery of ice/water, and ongoing resident communications. With regards to other emergencies our neighborhoods have recently experienced (sewer main breaks and COVID-19) we have focused on access to information for residents and strong advocacy.
Residents who are willing to lend a hand in an emergency should contact the current Disaster Preparedness Committee Chair,

This committee continuously works to ensure an open line of communication exists between residents and law enforcement so that concerns, safety bulletins, and urgent messages are passed on.
The Rio Vista Social Committee is often the most visible committee. In a typical year the Social Committee hosts annual events which include a Holiday Party in the winter and Campout in the Spring.
