25th ANNUAL FORT LAUDERDALE CHRISTMAS PAGEANT
...Nov. 28, 2008 - Dec. 14th, 2009
First Baptist Church's Light and Sound Holiday Spectacular! Twenty-five years ago, the Fort Lauderdale Christmas Pageant premiered for the very first time at a nearby civic auditorium. On our 10th Anniversary, we celebrated the opening of our current Sanctuary, custom-designed for presentation of the Christmas story. For our 20th Anniversary, we introduced a new grand Austrian Curtain and new settings for both acts of our program designed especially for this production by George and Goldberg. The stage was designed by Broadway designers Peter Wolf ("Peter Pan") and Bill Eckart ("Cinderella"). As we anticipate the Silver Anniversary of the Christmas Pageant, we have even greater surprises being planned. For tickets and performance info, call 954.831.1145 or visit www.ChristmasTickets.com.

2008 WINTERFEST BOAT PARADE! ...Saturday, Dec. 13th
In 2008, "Rockin' The Night Aweigh" brings Winterfest back on the New River. Grand Marshal for this year's event is Jim Belushi. This year's parade will be held on December 13th starting at 6:30pm in the New River and Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway of Ft Lauderdale. If you plan to participate by boat, you must register prior to the December 8th Captains' meeting. To watch by boat, make sure you anchor up in one of the recommended areas prior to 4:00pm to avoid shutdowns of the ICW and New Rivers. There are multiple areas available for land viewing. Hugh Taylor Birch State Park is one of the prime locations - featuring both open ($2 per person) and reserved seating. The park will be closed to motorized traffic so catch a shuttle bus from Holiday Park off Sunrise Ave. For official information, please visit the Winterfest Parade Website at www.WinterFestParade.com
