 As the six-month hurricane season begins June 1, Broward County will host the third annual Hurricane Expo for residents Saturday, May 31, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., at the Broward County Emergency Operations Center (EOC), 201 N.W. 84th Ave., Plantation. The free expo will feature information, exhibits and tours of the EOC. A new feature this year will be scheduled demonstrations hourly during the expo and a "kid's zone." There is ample parking at the EOC and the public is strongly encouraged to attend.  The need to 'Go Green' has become a reality in our lives - for any number of reasons - from climate change to soaring fuel and food costs. In our next issue of RIO VISTA! we're going to look at some of the ways Rio Vista residents, as well as our City and County, are incorporating 'Going Green' into our homes and lifestyles.
RVCA is asking YOU to share some of your ideas on 'Going Green' - from recycling to solar power, from transportation alternatives to the way you eat and the household products you use - and we'll incorporate them into the article.
